Peony’s founding agent, based in Hong Kong, Marysia has extensive experience of publishing in both the UK and Asia. Previously head of literary management for Hong Kong media group Creative Work, in her time there she achieved significant sales for Liu Heung Shing’s collection of photography, China, Portrait of a Country (Taschen); Lijia Zhang’s memoir Socialism is Great! (Random House); and sales to Random House of Su Tong’s short story collection, The Madwoman on the Bridge, and his novel The Boat to Redemption, which went on to be named winner of the prestigious 2009 Man Asian Literary Prize.
Before living in Hong Kong, Marysia worked for several UK publishers including Hachette, Reader’s Digest and Harlequin Mills & Boon. She graduated in Mandarin Chinese from Durham University.
